Tourmaline is a web service that acts as a connector between weighing systems, other serial/Ethernet devices and your company’s ERP/WMS/MES systems. It’s installed on an IIS and runs in the background.
When the ERP/WMS/MES system needs to connect with the weighing systems, it connects with Tourmaline and asks for the current result. Tourmaline connects with the scale/weighing system with its unique protocol, receives the result and replies to the calling software in a standard protocol. There’s no need to write a protocol for each device.
